Sunday is my Day

Damn, I love Sundays. I mean really, is there any more peaceful day. The Lord’s Day, day of rest, day to catch up on living, day when my heart knew what love was once more. I wish there was more days that I would have lived like it was Sunday. For instance, there is a park called Piedmont Park, and on any usual weekday the park is slightly busy with bikers, runners, soccer players, and a rare active population; but on Sunday the park is filled with thousands of people, I mean thousands of people. There are families big and small, old couples, young couples, couples with pets, picnics, football throwing, frisbee games, just crazy. There is hardly any parking for blocks going in four directions. People are out there making it happen, enjoying each other and soaking up the sun. Even though it is most likely difficult if you have a career, or a steady job, everyday should feel like Sunday. Everyday that God fills your lungs and allows you to walk on this earth. Everyday that you wake up and start the day is a gift; a blessing but we don’t really feel it till a day like Sunday. So thank you Lord, for all you do and give, because I know we take things for granted…thank you God for Sunday, my day.
